And I'm not just saying it because the movie is awful (altough it really looks awful)
The upcoming Hercules movie staring Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) is actualy based on a graphic novel called Hercules: The Thracian Wars created and written by Steve Moore (R.I.P.) however trough a very mischieful contract Steve Moore recieved not a single penny from Hollywood over his creation being adapted into a big budget film (and apparently his name was nowere around the movie either). But even worse, after Steve Moore passed away last March, the producers of this film took the chance of sending their condolences to the general public while at the same time making promotion to the movie, yeah, they used Steve Moore's dead as a "promo" for their goddamn movie.
“They had not, before Steve’s death, seen fit to mention his involvement with the original story. Like I say, that was his only consolation that his name was not going to be linked to this ignorant dreck. However, after Steve’s death, you could see that someone had thought, ‘Oh, there’ve been a couple of obituaries in the press and there’s quite a lot of talk about this. We could perhaps get some publicity for our film. It’s not like we’re going to have to pay him any money.’” - Alan Moore's opinion on this.
Something similar happened couple years back with the shitty Ghost Rider 2, that time the movie bombed and was distroyed by critics, media and general people alike, let's see if the same happens to this film (honestly I hope it does)
As an amateur comic writter myself, I can't imagine how it must be to see your creation being butchered by people who think their ideas are better than yours and then how they try to make millions of dollars out of it without even paying you or giving you any credit. Steve Moore died with that idea in mind.
Don't go watch Hercules people, go get the comics instead, I bet they're way better.
